UNION – An eyewitness account of the Battle of Fredericksburg is vividly described by young Pvt. John P. Hamilton in a letter to his mother in New Brunswick. Union County Clerk, author and historian Joanne Rajoppi, who discovered this letter and 90 others, will speak at a public program presented by the Union County Section, National Council of Jewish Women and the YM-YWHA of Union County on Tuesday, May 22.
CLARK — Jenna Stafford’s second grade class at Valley Road School in Clark received a grant from the Clark Education Fund enabling the purchase of terrariums. The students have been studying living organisms in science. Obtaining terrariums for the classroom has allowed the second graders to explore different environments that plants live in, and learn about the needs of plants.
CRANFORD – Union County College graduate Maria Botinelly, a Union resident, came to the United States from Brazil in 2006 on what was initially a short vacation for a change of pace.
