Munera Completes Basic Training

PARRIS ISLAND, S.C.—Marine Corps Pvt. Jonathan Munera, son of Jeanne and Fernando Munera of South Amboy, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.

Caseres Strikes Twice As NJCU Opens 2009 Women’s Soccer Campaign With 4-1 Win

NEWBURGH, N.Y. — New Jersey City University sophomore forward JULIA CASERES (Union, NJ/Union) broke a 1-1 tie just 1:14 after Mount Saint Mary College (NY) had evened the score and later netted a penalty kick as the Gothic Knight women’s soccer team opened its 2009 season and the entire NJCU athletic calendar for the year with a 4-1 victory on Tuesday night at the Kaplan Athletic Field.
