CARLSTADT – An enthusiastic crowd of car and motorcycle lovers not only got to see streets lined with their favorite vehicles Sunday but heard an important safety message from the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) about how cars and motorcycles need to safely “Share the Road” with each other.
RAHWAY — New Jersey producer James N. Vagias has founded American Theater Group, an ambitious new performing arts company that will offer musicals and spoken plays; a new musical reading series; and theater education programs beginning next fall at Rahway’s new Hamilton Stage for the Performing Arts.
STATE — Average retail gasoline prices in New Jersey have fallen 3.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.68 per gallon yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.77 per gallon, according to gasoline price website NewJerseyGasPrices.com.
Friday’s jobs report for April was even more disappointing than March. Employers added only 115,000 new jobs, down from March’s number (the Bureau of Labor Statistics revised the March number upward to 154,000, but that’s still abysmal relative to what’s needed). We need well over 250,000 new jobs per month in order to begin to whittle down the vast number of jobs lost in the Great Recession.
PISCATAWAY — After enjoying a gourmet meal prepared by students, more than 250 members of the advisory committees of the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools got down to business at meetings of two dozen advisory panels.
