CLARK — Out of 13 competing area grammar schools, St. John the Apostle’s School in Clark eighth-graders tied for second place in the 39th annual Scholastic Olympics hosted by Roselle Catholic High School.

Puppets With A Purpose

CLARK — Arthur L. Johnson High School’s Puppetry Club paid a visit to Valley Road School to teach the students about bullying. With the hand-held puppets serving as the actors, the puppeteers used a variety of role-played skits to illustrate to the audience the many different forms of bullying.

PTA Pumpkin Patch

RAHWAY — Students at Franklin Elementary School in Rahway recently visited the school’s pumpkin patch. Students from Pre-Kindergarten to grade 5 were able to visit the school’s courtyard and pick out their own pumpkin.

Local Business Raises Money To Fight Diabetes

STATE — As a result of the recent Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes events, DHL Express US employees from the Elizabeth and East Windsor facilities raised more than $22,000 for the Mid-Jersey chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

SOUTH AMBOY – On Tuesday, South Amboy residents will elect three members of the City Council, in a race that is overshadowed by the 4-way mayoral campaign.
