LINDEN—The “Hearts for Haiti” fund drive came about from School No. 9’s desire to respond to the need of the children of Haiti after the devastating earthquake that hit that country.

ELIZABETH — Two years ago, All-Star Pet Rescue of Linden learned about a Rottweiler dog with a mangled leg that had been seen in Elizabeth. Although rescue workers made several attempts to find the dog and bring him in, they were never able to capture the Rottweiler.
Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. – In the vicinity of Stiles Street in Linden, Officer Antonio Manata arrested Linden resident Kenneth Byrd, 42, on an outstanding warrant from the Union County Sheriff’s Department. He was subsequently transported to the Union County Jail.
