RAHWAY – The city will have a new mayor next year; James Kennedy has decided not to seek re-election. Kennedy will have served 20 years in office when his term ends.
LINDEN – Police charged a 21-year-old Elizabeth man with stealing a purse from an 86-year-old Rahway woman at the Family Dollar store on East St. Georges Avenue last Friday, authorities said.

UNION COUNTY — Authorities have charged a Plainfield woman with the stabbing death of a 36-year-old man, said Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
STATE – Before Gov. Chris Christie delivered his budget message on March 16, most school districts were preparing for a worst-case scenario involving a 15 percent cut in state funding. For most school administrators, that would represent a very welcome scenario indeed.

LINDEN—Line dance classes for all Linden senior citizens, age 50 and older, will run from April 9 through June 25 at the John T. Gregorio Recreation Center, 330 Helen Street, Linden, Friday mornings from 10-11 a.m.
