Blood Center Exhibit Honors Black History Month

SCOTCH PLAINS—The works of local artists, both African Americans and those who pay tribute to the talents of African Americans, will open in an exhibit honoring Black History Month at the NJ Blood Services blood center and South Avenue Gallery on Feb. 22, with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m.

Send A Shelter Box To Haiti While Enjoying International Foods And Music

SCOTCH PLAINS—Help provide shelter for earthquake victims in Haiti and food for neighbors in need while enjoying international cuisine and listening to vocal and instrumental music from China. Attend the International Dinner at Willow Grove Presbyterian Church in Scotch Plains on Saturday, March 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Family Math Night

LINDEN—Family Math Night is a way for parents and children to talk and work together while learning. It also provides a time and place where communication can take place between teachers and the family.

Mental Marathon

RAHWAY—On Feb. 17, the fourth grade gifted and talented students from Roosevelt School attended the Union County Mental Marathon, held at the Rahway Rec Center. Students from Elizabeth, Cranford, Rahway, and Roselle attended.
