LINDEN—In what appears to be an attempt to induce his challenger to withdraw from the primary election campaign in Linden’s Fifth Ward with a promise of future support, Councilman Gene Davis suggested that Council President Robert Bunk does not plan to serve a full term if he is elected mayor.

LINDEN – The city Department of Public Property and Community Services has concluded its 2010 Free Income Tax Assistance Program. This program, which was held at various sites throughout the community, between Feb. 5 and April 15, assisted nearly 2,000 residents with the federal and state tax forms.

LINDEN – Paul W. Werkmeister, long time resident and former mayor, has been chosen as Linden’s 34th annual Outstanding Senior Citizen of the Year.
RAHWAY – They could be spending time playing cards or golf, but instead they choose to help others. To thank them for their volunteerism, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway held a special luncheon for volunteers of long-standing on April 19.
