Former Plainfield Recycling Station Operations Manager Pleads Guilty To Corruption Charge

NEWARK – A former operations manager of a transfer and recycling station in Plainfield pleaded guilty Tuesday to traveling and causing the travel in interstate commerce to promote and facilitate commercial bribery, admitting he caused an individual who hauled waste and recyclable material to travel in interstate commerce, and thereafter accepted bribe payments from that individual on numerous occasions, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

Pound For Pound Challenge Benefits Food Bank

HILLSIDE – Biggest Loser finalist Amanda Arlauskas will kick off the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s efforts in the Pound for Pound Challenge on Thursday, Feb. 18, from 5-7 p.m. (31 Evans Terminal, Hillside). Arlauskas lost more than 85 pounds on the show last fall, which saw her finish third in the December finale.
