FANWOOD—Couples and all adults interested in improving communications are invited to take a Love Dare. This dare will begin with a free movie night on Saturday, Oct. 17, 6 p.m.
Beginning Aug. 21 and running through Sept. 7, a total of 236 local and county law enforcement agencies, as well as the New Jersey State Police, will be cracking down on drivers operating their vehicles and motorcycles while intoxicated.
SCOTCH PLAINS – Middle school students throughout Union County may learn about sustainability this fall by building their own wind turbines and cooking with solar energy. The hands-on activities took place during a “Green Boot Camp” for middle school teachers. The camp was developed through a partnership between Honeywell and Union County Vocational-Technical Schools, to help middle school teachers learn about the latest green education tools.
UNION – Kean University held commencement ceremonies for its graduate and undergraduate students in May. Among the degree recipients were more than 600 students who graduated with honors, the largest group in the university’s history to graduate with distinction.

TRENTON—Teens and tweens from 28 New Jersey libraries will have the chance to win a trip to WWE®’s SummerSlam in Los Angeles this summer by taking part in the SummerSlam Reading Jam.
FANWOOD – The Fanwood Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Tri-County Red Cross will host a joint training drill on Sunday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Fanwood’s Forest Road Park.
