UNION COUNTY—Sledding was on the agenda for many of Union County’s children, who were off from school for a second day. For smaller children, the small slopes in Briant Park in Summit and Lenape Park in Cranford were enough.

Blizzard Warning In Effect

STATE — Road crews are working to clear New Jersey highways and major roadways, but the worst of this winter storm may not have come yet.

The National Weather Service has a blizzard warning in effect for the state. High winds — with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour — are expected this afternoon. Possible whiteout conditions will make travel dangerous, and officials are advising residents to stay at home if possible.

Disgraced Cop Charges Dropped

UNION COUNTY — Tina Renna, president Union County Watchdog Association, is demanding answers from Westfield officials concerning the dismissal of two disorderly persons charges filed against a politically-connected police officer.
