Registration Open For Y’s 3 On 3 Basketball Tournament


SOUTH AMBOY — The South Amboy Branch YMCA will feature a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament next month. The games will be tipping off at noon on Saturday, Dec. 21. Teams must wear the same color shirts and the tournament will be set up depending on number of teams. Members pay $15 and non-members $20.

South Amboy Y Plans Holiday Trip to See “A Christmas Carol”


SOUTH AMBOY — The South Amboy Y is planning a day trip to see Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater in Lancaster, Pa. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. After the show, everyone will enjoy a buffet lunch, followed by a tour of the National Christmas Center.

Amboy Bank Supports Library Efforts To Preserve South Amboy History


SOUTH AMBOY — On Oct. 17, The Amboy Foundation presented a $3,000 check to the Dowdell Library Foundation to support the Sadie Pope Dowdell Public Library of South Amboy. The Amboy Foundation’s contribution will be used to acquire a digital scanner, video recorder and other equipment to help preserve South Amboy’s history.

Or perhaps scrapbooking or beading is your thing! If so bring your needles or hooks and yard, beads and thread, or photos and scrappy supplies for an uninterrupted night of crafting.

Thanks to support from Target, the Dowdell Library Foundation’s grant to South Amboy’s Dowdell Library will be used for children’s Kindles. SOUTH AMBOY — Kindles loaded with early reader fiction for children will soon be available at South Amboy’s Dowdell Library. The Kindle Fires and eBooks will provide new avenues for reading and enable the library to present new programs based on the devices.
