STATE -- Thousands of New Jersey residents are without power this morning as a result of an ice storm. At 8:30 a.m., about 15,000 PSE&G customers were without power due to icing on the utility’s equipment and on trees. Nearly 14,000 Jersey Central Power & Light customers were without electricity at 10:40 a.m
STATE – Today’s winter storm, with precipitation switching from snow to sleet and freezing rain this morning, is causing delays on New Jersey roads. Speed restrictions are in place for the Garden State Parkway, New Jersey Turnpike and George Washington Bridge.
STATE – According to a newly-released report by the New Jersey State Police, gangs are present in 45 percent of New Jersey’s municipalities. Nearly all of the state’s 566 municipalities responded to the survey, with only Elizabeth declining.
