SOUTH AMBOY — Mayor John O’Leary hosted officials and the public Tuesday who gathered to mark the completion of a newly reconstructed train station.
LINDEN – A Roselle man who led police on a chase in a stolen car was arrested early Tuesday morning, according to Linden Police Detective Lt. James Sarnicki.
SOUTH PLAINFIELD—The Middlesex County Public Health Department will administer 5,000 H1N1 vaccinations to the general public (ages 6 months and older) from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, at the South Plainfield PAL Building, 1250 Maple Avenue.
CARTERET—On Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, Mayor Dan Reiman and the Borough Council were joined by local business leaders in welcoming a new Shell station to 6600 Industrial Highway. According to Reiman, the Shell station and Food Mart are the first retail commercial businesses to open on Industrial Avenue in more than 20 years.
PERTH AMBOY—Perth Amboy received a $3.5 million extraordinary aid award from the state, half of the amount requested to close a budget shortfall. The award was the largest of the 16 announced last week, and the only one for a Middlesex County municipality.
SAYREVILLE-In October of 1944, Navy Day was proclaimed in Sayreville. Mayor Phillip McCutcheon issued a proclamation calling upon all residents of the borough to join in the observation of Navy Day on Oct. 27.
