EDISON -- Sixty-three students were recently inducted into the Middlesex County College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.
NEWARK – The State Board of Medical Examiners today accepted a doctor’s decision to voluntarily cease medical practice, rather than face a hearing scheduled for today to temporarily suspend his license, amid allegations that he committed gross malpractice, gross negligence and/or gross incompetence for indiscriminately prescribing painkillers and testosterone to patients.
OLD BRIDGE – Steven Contreras, one of five suspects charged in the 2010 beating death of Dr. Divyendu Sinha, was acquitted of murder but found guilty of aggravated assault and conspiracy, according to a report by NJ.com.

EDISON -- Middlesex County College honored students active in college clubs and organizations at a luncheon in April. Active club members were presented with an award; those active in two or more clubs received special honors. The five of those with the highest grade point average received All College awards.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY – Earlier this month, one student from each high school in the county was recognized for outstanding volunteer community service with a 2012 Caring Award. The Middlesex County Guidance Council presented the awards at a dinner held at Middlesex County College.
