Democratic 2020 U.S. presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) will participate in the fourth Democratic debate on Oct. 15, his campaign said on Thursday.
Sanders, who was treated for a blocked artery after experiencing chest discomfort on Tuesday, used his stay in a hospital to boost his ‘Medicare for All’ plan to make every American protected from health care expenses.
“He will be at the debate,” a campaign spokeswoman said. Sanders, 78, was taken to a hospital while in Las Vegas for campaign events and had two stents inserted to clear the blockage.
Doctors say the procedure has become routine and supporters remain committed to the progressive candidate, wo came close to snatching the Democratic presidential nomination from Hillary Clinton in 2016.
