Trump rival pans military money move

Former Massachusetts governor Bill Weld is criticizing President Donald Trump over the diversion of $3.6 billion in funds allocated for military construction that will instead be used to pay for his silly border wall.

Weld is challenging Trump for the 2020 GOP nomination but the responsible and experienced Republican is considered a long shot.

“First, Mexico was paying for the Wall. Then, @realDonaldTrump shut down the government in a failed attempt to make Congress fund it. They refused,” said Weld on Twitter. “Now, he’s taking the money from our military—costing American jobs and preparedness. Insanity.”

Since most immigrants who live in the United States without authorization arrive through legal ports of entry using temporary visas but don’t leave when they expire, an expensive barrier would do little to prevent the problem that is so upsetting to Trump supporters.

That has not stopped the passionate right-wing political movement from advocating the simplistic proposed solution that was Trump’s key campaign promise.

Consequently, the White House is hell bent on achieving some tangible progress the might be claimed as a fulfillment of Trump’s pledge.
