Biden’s support deteriorating, dragging down Democratic field

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s support has fallen below 30 percent, his lowest mark in the survey so far, in the latest Hill-HarrisX poll of Democratic voters.

The survey found that 29 percent of likely Democratic primary voters support Biden as their first choice for president, while 16 percent express a preference for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who is also the second choice for most Democrats.

The latest drop for Biden was attributed to his weak performance in the first 2020 Democratic debates and voters getting a closer look at some parts of his long record that seem out of touch with today’s society.

Support for Biden dropped 17 points from May, the month after the former Vice President began his third campaign for the White House.
