Local PR pro appointed to board of charity to end violence against girls

Together for Girls, a global non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence against children with a focus on sexual violence against girls, announced the appointment of local New Jersey public relations professional and managing partner of Parsippany-based Green Room Communications, Karen Carolonza, to their Board of Directors.

Founded in 2009, Together for Girls Inc. brings together national governments, United Nations entities, and private sector organizations to prevent and respond to violence against children with a focus on ending sexual violence against girls.

The charity uses a three-pronged model: data, action, and advocacy to promote evidence-based solutions, galvanize coordinated response across sectors, and raise awareness

Carolonza is a proven public relations and communications professional with more than 20 years of global experience in the healthcare, chemical, and TV news industries.

She is one of two founding partners of Green Room Communications, a healthcare communications company based in Parsippany, NJ celebrating 10 years, and with a focus on public relations, corporate communications, media strategy, advocacy relations and creative design.

As a member of the Together for Girls, Inc. Board of Directors, Carolonza will support the continued growth of the organization and help raise awareness about its mission and work.
