The Gloucester County Prosecutor Charles Fiore said a lone suspect was shot by police, who liberated two female hostages who work at the UPS facility in Logan Township, where an active shooter incident had been under way since earlier this morning.
There was no word on the suspect’s condition but the female hostages are unharmed, according to authorities.
Fiore said the suspect did not surrender, but he was taken into custody after a confrontation with the police who entered the facility.
Fiore said authorities “resolved the situation.”
Officials say the gunman, who had been in a relationship with one of the two women that were held hostage, was angry at his ex-girlfriend.
The incident reportedly began at 8:30 a.m. at the UPS mail processing facility on Birchcreek Road in Logan Township, a community of about 6,000 people on the Delaware River, located south of Camden.
