A man wanted in a fatal Virginia shooting was arrested this in Rahway, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

Shannon Lewis Walker, 29, of Roanoke was arrested Tuesday by U.S. Marshals’ New York/New Jersey fugitive task force, Newark Office, at a home in the city, where the suspect was staying with family members, Roanoke police said.

Roanoke is a city in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia.

Walker and Derrell Jamar Jones, 28, who was arrested last month, face first-degree murder charges in the death of Michael D. Jackson, who was shot June 8 outside a convenience store, after an argument that started in the store and escalated in the parking lot.

Police spokeswoman Caitlyn Cline said that Jackson and the suspects knew each other.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Marshals Service in Newark did not respond to an inquiry for information about the home where Walker was arrested.
