Elizabeth DeCou, a 66-year-old registered nurse and child abuse victim advocate from Oakland, was arrested Sunday for attempting to deliver toys for who they believed were immigrant children separated from their parents at the US border.
About 35 volunteers with the group Solidaridad con Niños traveled to the Baptist Child and Family Services facility in Fairfield, to deliver toys and books and sing lullabies in Spanish to the children.
DeCou and another member, Jesse Ingber, were charged with tresspassing.
