Willow Grove Presbyterian Church welcomes pastor

Willow Grove Presbyterian Church welcomed new transitional pastor, Rev. Heather Morrison-Yaden on February 18, 2018.

Morrison-Yaden will serve Willow Grove Church throughout 2018 as the congregation prepares to call a permanent pastor.  Pastor Heather, originally from Morristown NJ, brings with her steadfast joy, faith, and humor in serving this church.

Rev. Morrison-Yaden and Willow Grove Church kick off the season of Lent with an adult study series called “Bowing One’s Heart.”

Sunday at 11:30 am, through March 18, this discussion offers a new perspective regarding the tradition of fasting as it relates to community building and service.

Each week is a stand-alone presentation and features a different guest speaker each week.

This adult spiritual education program is free and open to the public.

February 25 features Union County Interfaith Coordinating Council with Elder Skip Winter of Cranford Presbyterian Church.

March 4 features Family Promise Union County with Director Geleen Donovan.

March 11 features St. Joseph Social Services and Food Pantry with Director Bernadette Murphy.

March 18 concentrates on specific community building and services programs available through Willow Grove Church.

Rev. Morrison-Yaden and others at Willow Grove Church are excited for this time of transition, reflection, and a time of great adaptation and new beginnings. Worship services on Sunday mornings begin at 10:00 am and includes worship, Sunday School for all ages, and a special children’s music instruction time.

Willow Grove Church is located at 1961 Raritan Rd. in Scotch Plains, just down from the south side firehouse and soccer field.

All facilities are handicap accessible and there is ample on-site parking.  For more information, contact office@willowgrovechurch.org or www.willowgrovechurch.org or call the church office at 908-232-5678.
