United States Army Sergeant First Class Mihail Golin lost his life in combat on January 1, 2018 while deployed in Afghanistan.
Golin served as a Special Forces weapons sergeant for the Green Berets in B Company, 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, based in Fort Carson, Colorado.
He was deployed by the United States Army four times, once to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and three times to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
“Sgt. Golin was a loving son and father who will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fellow soldiers,” said Governor Chris Christie. “Sgt. Golin was a brave, dedicated, and decorated soldier. He will always be remembered for his heroism and commitment to service and country.”
