Shaping Elizabeth Launches – A Better You in 2018

For the past five years the Shaping Elizabeth Coalition has been working collectively to influence community members to make healthy changes in nutrition and physical activity.

In 2018, coalition partners: The Gateway Family YMCA, Elizabeth Public Library, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Jewish Family Services – Lifelong Elizabeth and the City of Elizabeth are working together to bring education, services, information, resources and interactive programs to the community at the Elizabeth Public Library.

A Better You in 2018, #BetterYou2018 kicks off on Saturday, January 20th at 11:00 AM at the Elizabeth Public Library 11 S. Broad Street and Sunday, January 28th at 12:30 PM at the Elmora Branch, 740 West Grand Street.

A Better You in 2018 is a community forum for adults and families to learn about our plans in 2018, participate in fun healthy activities for healthy nutrition on a budget, getting active, relaxation and getting and staying healthy. Your voice is important – throughout the forum we will be asking for your feedback on strategies and barriers that prevent you from achieving your journey to a healthier you.

Registration is suggested at or call 908-994-5836. All are welcome. Raffles, fresh produce, and giveaways will be part of the fun.

January will be the first of several opportunities to join together for a healthier you! Additional resources and programs will be made available based on your feedback throughout 2018.

Shaping Elizabeth (SE) is a team of community members committed to improving the health and well-being of the residents of the City of Elizabeth by creating sustainable changes to systems, policies and the environment, by proposing and implementing strategies to close the health equity gap and support improved health, nutrition and physical activity for all.
