“…vice grip…”

Sorry that it’s been awhile (due to health issues), but believe me, this wait is worth it…

Have you ever heard of Liz Vice?…i must admit…i hadn’t till my favorite musicologist told me about her…

So i looked her up and she has one album so far to her credit…It’s called ‘there’s a light’…

First of all, she is considered gospel/christian, but before you go turning the page, hear me out…

Liz Vice is like Irma Thomas meets Beth Hart on the way to an Erykah Badu concert where Amy Winehouse is blasting thru the speakers as Liz finds out her twin sister is Tracy Chapman…get the idea…

it’s Motown and Stax on this wax with Dinah Washington looking on from the sideline…

The entire album is brilliant, but most notably songs like ‘Entrance’ and ‘The Source’ finally show that singing about God doesn’t have to be boring…Throw out your old set list people.,..there’s a new groove in town and its name is Liz Vice…

…and get this…she’s actually a worship leader at a new foursquare church in brooklyn…can you believe the revival that will go on in there…

The ‘single’ off the album is the title track, but i actually find it almost like an add on at the end of the album…

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great song…it’s just that it’s just as good as other songs on the album, and in my opinion, there are even better songs that I would have chosen…then again…

It’s just nice to know that there’s a light shining brightly in the praise and worship these days, and it’s name is Liz Vice…
