The Friends of the Metuchen Library invite you to come on its annual visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
The beautiful Christmas Tree and Creche will be on display, as always, to celebrate the holiday season. Several exciting new exhibits, as well as the the Met’s world famous collections, are featured for your viewing. They include: “Jeruselam;” Max Beckman; Valentin; Fragonard; Mastry, The Works of Kerry James Marshall; and Rei Kawakuba fashions for Comme des Garcons.
Our bus will depart from in front of the library, at Library Place in Metuchen promptly at 9:15 a.m. but we ask that you be on the bus by 9:00 so we can take advantage of the best traffic conditions. You can usually find safe, on-street parking on Library Place and some other streets around the Library.
The trip will cost $59 per person, which covers transportation, the entry fee to the museum and a gratuity for the bus driver. You can leave your personal items on the bus while at the museum.
Payment is due by November 20, by check or money order, payable to the Friends of the Metuchen Library. No cash will be accepted and no refunds are made for cancellations. If you can’t make it, you are encouraged to sell unused tickets to people on the waiting list or on your own.
Present your payment by Nov. 20 at the main desk of the Metuchen Library and be sure to add your name to the trip list.
Lunch can be purchased in the museum’s cafeteria or pricier full-service restaurant. Audio earphones are available for $4. The return trip from New York City leaves promptly at 3:30 p.m. so check your watches to be sure to be on the bus by 3:20.
