Push-up record setter Patrick Murray, of Hoboken.

Patrick Murray, a 28 year old Hoboken resident, attempted to set a new Guinness World Record for the most one-arm push ups in one minute, carrying a 40 lb pack on Sunday, October 23.

The current record, of 33, is held by Hiroyuki Gondou from Japan.

With several certified personal trainers present, Murray was able to complete 42 one-arm push ups, as shown on the video, below.

Murray is a fitness specialist & meditation coach who works with military veterans at RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center at Carteret and he owns New Motive Hypnosis.

In order to be certified by Guinness, Murray must submit evidence that he performed the feat with two witnesses, two timers, weighing the bag before and after doing the push ups and recorded from two camera angles.
