The Peter Jacob for Congress campaign welcomes several prominent advisers to their team.
Mark Parker-Magyar, former Data Director and Deputy Field Director for the Bernie Sanders campaign in New Jersey joins the team as the campaign’s Data Director, Fred Lonsdale, former GOTV Director for the Bernie Sanders campaign has joined the Peter Jacob for Congress campaign as Field Director, and Adam Burgdorf who held the position of Political Affairs Adviser at the United Nations has joined the team as Deputy Communications Manager.

The campaign is expanding its reach; Peter continues to gain supporters because he talks about the important issues and he is not a ‘career politician’ type. Additionally, the campaign has received the endorsement of Ohio State Senator Nina Turner. Senator Turner joins the ranks of prominent Peter Jacob supporters including Josh Fox, Emmy Award winning Director of Gasland andHow to Let Go of The World And Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change;and Mark Ruffalo, Emmy Award winning actor and environmental activist.
Nina’s passionate defense of progressive values has garnered national attention through her regular appearances on national television and radio programs; as well as accolades from numerous national organizations. Nina is currently the Chair of Political Engagement for the Ohio Democratic Party and Professor of History at Cuyahoga Community College. Senator Turner will be recording outreach messages for the campaign which will be sent out to the District in the coming weeks.
Following an incredibly successful fundraiser in New York, which included appearances from NY State Assembly Members Richard N. Gottfried & David I. Weprin, NY Council Member Ydanis A. Rodriguez and NJ State Assembly Member Raj Mukherji, the outpouring of support that the Jacob campaign has recieved is impressive. Hundereds of new volunteers have joined to help phone-bank and canvass, and campaign contributions have been consistently on the rise.
These endorsements follow the most recent FEC filings from the campaign, in which Peter Jacob out-raised his opponent, Leonard Lance, on individual contributions by a margin of nearly three to one. Peter Jacob prides himself on the fact that his campaign is driven by the people through small donations and not by special interests and Super PACs. Peter Jacob, a former social worker, has consistently campaigned to put “People Over Politics” by prioritizing the concerns and needs of everyday people over those of large corporations and career politicians.
Peter Jacob is set to face off against Republican incumbent Leonard Lance onNovember 8th for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District House of Representatives seat.
