Hypertension is subject of free seminar

Dr. Vasyl Pidkaminetskiy

The community is invited to attend a free evening seminar sponsored by Trinitas Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Vasyl Pidkaminetskiy, family practitioner and internist of the Trinitas Physicians Practice located in Rahway, will speak on Thursday, April 28, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. “Hypertension: Keeping it Under Control” will be presented at the location of the practice at 1600 St. Georges Avenue in Rahway.

The Centers for Disease Control reports that hypertension, or high blood pressure, is found in more than 70 million Americans, one out of every three adults. The price tag annually for the condition is $46 billion in health care costs, medication to treat it, and missed days at work.

Only about half of those who have hypertension have it under control.

“The fact that so many people suffer with high blood pressure and that billions of dollars are associated with it makes it a topic of discussion and scrutiny,” says Dr. Pidkaminetskiy. “I’d like to see a rise in the percentage of those who have their high blood pressure under control. That’s why I want to share with the community what I’m seeing in my practice and how those with hypertension can deal with it.”

Dr. Pidkaminetskiy is board certified in family practice and internal medicine with fluency in Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, and English. He completed his medical training in Ukraine and upon coming to the United States he served his medical residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York.

Prior to joining Trinitas, Dr. Pidkaminetskiy practiced internal medicine in Clifton, Wallington and Passaic, New Jersey, and was affiliated with St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic and St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson.

To register for this free seminar on April 28, call 908-994–8939. The seminar will take place at 1600 St. Georges Ave. in Rahway where there is ample on site parking. Light refreshments will be served.
