                                                        “…yes virginia, there is a deep purple…”

As anyone knows who happens to read the news lately, the so-called Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has inducted their latest group of luminaries, including, finally Deep Purple…

Glenn Hughes, Ian Gillan, and David Coverdale all attended, but quite possibly the most famous member of them all, Ritchie Blackmore, did not…

No big surprise…These guys haven’t gotten along in a very, very, very long time…

In fact, Blackmore is the kind of guy that really nobody gets along with…and he’ll be the first to suggest that…

Nevertheless, it was great to finally see them inducted, alongside the usual dubious characters (N.W.A.?…Really?)…Another fellow inmate, Steve Miller, who was also inducted that evening, spoke viciously about the hall, as I have in past articles…

First off, once again, change the name…it ain’t ‘rock and roll’ no matter how you slice it…hip-hop and rap don’t belong in a rock hall of fame…same goes for about 80% of everybody that has gotten in…

And, once again, who have they left out…I’ll just start with three names…Yes, T. Rex, and Jethro Tull…Jethro Tull for goodness sake…The folks that gave us ‘Aqualung’ and ‘Minstrel In The Gallery’, “A Passion Play’ and ‘Think As a Brick’…c’mon…

Then again, Deep Purple gave us ‘Smoke On The Water’ and they just got in…

I say close it down and someone else build a new one…Obviously, those who are there now don’t know what they’re doing…

And by the way…check out the new deluxe editions of several Deep Purple albums, including ‘Stormbringer’ and ‘Come Taste The Band’…

And speaking of ‘Come Taste The Band’…God bless Tommy Bolin…
