PORTALES, NM — Ismail Abdul-Wahid of Linden has been named to Eastern New Mexico University’s Dean’s List for the fall 2015 semester.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours with a GPA between 3.25 and 4.00.

ENMU, a state institution offering associate, bachelor and master degree options, serves students from around the world. Courses are offered on-campus and online.

As an outfielder, Abdul-Wahid was a keystone player on the Union County College baseball team for two seasons before heading west in 2014. At Union County College in Cranford, where he was a scholar athlete and earned an AA, Abdul-Wahid appeared in 28 games batting a .326 average with five home runs and 21 RBIs. He also recorded six stolen bases.

Before that, Abdul-Wahid attended Linden High School, where he played baseball, football and wrestling, earning All-Conference and All Region awards.
