                                                              “…take me to the winehouse…”

Part Motown, part Stax…Part Billie Holiday, part Ronnie Spector…All natural…All original…that was Amy Winehouse…

It’s hard to imagine thinking about the brilliant singer/songwriter, without thinking about the troubled one as well…

The recently released documentary, entitled ‘Amy’, is now available on dvd, and it has made the Academy Award short list for documentaries as well…

Two other documents on the dichotic life of Ms. Winehouse, ‘I Told You I Was Trouble’ and ‘Under Review: The Girl Done Good’, complete the mystery that fueled this jazz sensation like a comet across the night sky…

‘I Told You I Was Trouble’ is a live concert shot in London, as well as a documentary…During her performance, her drink is as present as her lyrics, and the documentary adds a few interesting pieces to the puzzle…

‘Under Review: The Girl Done Good” focuses more on her music, with reviews from prominent music industry critics, those who worked with Amy, and those who knew her well…It too, however, has some amazing pieces that feature her breakdowns on stage and in life…

And finally, ‘Amy’, the documentary itself, that touches on so much, yet still leaves you wanting so much more…One of the most touching moments is when her idol, Tony Bennett, happens to be the one who announces her Grammy win… and then, shares a duet with her in the studio…This stuff ya’ can’t make up…

And as the amazing collection of footage flows, which includes everything from televised pieces and live pieces, all the way down to intimate home pieces that never should have been recorded, questions are answered, and leave you with more questions…And that’s not the fault of the filmmakers…

That was simply the life of Amy herself…
