The Woodbridge “Zombie & Vampire” parade kicks-off “Spooktacular Woodbridge” on Saturday, Oct. 10 when local “Zombies” “rise from the grave” to aimlessly wander down Main Street to Parker Press Park where they will join the “Ghost Walk.”
“Zombie’s & Vampire’s” will gather at the School District Administration Building (some say it’s haunted) on School Street at 5:00 PM for the “stroll” to Parker Press Park. Prizes for the best Vampire & Zombie costume.
The “Ghost Walk” will show a side of Woodbridge not typically found in textbooks – the Township’s rich history of ghosts, curious incidents and unexplained occurrences from Colonial days to the present. It’s all part of “Historic & Haunted Woodbridge”events, programs, and happenings throughout October.
Costumed guides and actors representing historical characters will lead tours on Sat., Oct. 10 & 17 that include several recognized historical sites. Tours run from 6:30 – 9:30 P.M. (every 15 minutes) from Parker Press Park, 400 Rahway Ave., in downtown Woodbridge (across from Berkeley College). Admission is $6.00 per person.
Woodbridge Halloween fun continues with the annual Woodbridge High School “Haunted House” (proceeds benefit the WHS Chorus) on Fri., Oct. 30 and Sat., Oct. 31.
Experience your worst “Fears, Phobias & Superstitions” at the “Haunted House” in the old “haunted” building at 1500 Rahway Avenue (across from the prison). “Happy Haunted House” (lights on) for youngsters is open from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. The real scary “Haunted House” is open from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. Tickets: $8.00 (adults) and $5.00 (children under 12 years of age.)

- Wed., Oct. 21: “Pumpkin Painting” at Parker Press Park from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Pick a FREE pumpkin and paint a Halloween masterpiece. Last pumpkin given out at 5:30 P.M. (while supplies last. Township residents only).
- Thurs., Oct. 22: “Stuff Your Own Scarecrow” at Parker Press Park from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. We supply the hay… you bring old clothes and create your own scarecrow.
- Sun., Oct. 25: “Trunk-or-Treat” & “Halloween Costume Contest” from 1:30 – 3:30 P.M. at the Woodbridge Community Center (WCC). Show off your Halloween costume while “Trunk-or-Treating.” Prizes for funniest, scariest and most original costume. And, stick around for the Halloween Drive-In Movie – “Monsters, Inc.” – showing at dusk in the WCC parking lot.
- Thurs., Oct. 29: “Halloween Hay Ride & Family Fun Festival” from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. at Parker Press Park. But, Beware of the Ghosts & Goblins along the way!!!
