Wardlaw-Hartridge students honored

Upper School students at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison were honored for their participation and achievement at the Honors Assembly on May 29 in the All-Purpose Room. The program began with a welcome by Rhona Eserner, Upper School Head, and continued with recognition of students who participated in service and leadership, clubs, the arts and athletics.


Twelve new members were inducted into the Cum Laude Society: seniors Rida Aziz of Scotch Plains, Matthew Handzy of Westfield, Simran Kaur of Carteret, Neema Liverpool of Plainfield, Huma Naqvi of Carteret, Shruti Patel of Edison, Zi Xuan Yang of Edison and Areeb Zaidi of Carteret and juniors Anisa Ahmed of Scotch Plains, Max Needle of Scotch Plains, Nathaniel Nyema of Edison and Astitva Soni of Edison. Jim Howard, Math Department Chair, awarded the RPI Medal to junior Astitva Soni of Edison. This award is in recognition of outstanding academic achievement in the study of mathematics and science.


Other academic areas recognized included Courier News Academic All-Star, AP Scholars, National Merit Scholars, New Jersey Governor’s School and World Language Honor Society. Students in all four grades who have made the honor roll throughout their high school career also were asked to stand to be recognized.
