Bilal Fullman, 25, of Woodbridge, was identified as the fatal gunshot victim found by police at about 8:50 p.m. on Friday.
Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park said officers responding to a call at Oakwood Plaza discovered Fullman, suffering from gunshot wounds at the 200 block of Parker Road in Elizabeth.
Fullman was subsequently pronounced dead.
Park said the shooting remains under investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force in concert with and the city police department.
