Five people were killed in shootings in multiple Pennsylvania locations near Philadelphia, prompting local police in the Borough of Souderton to corner a suspect who barricaded himself in a Montgomery County home.
More than a dozen police and SWAT team vehicles were circling the location where a man suspected of killing those five people at three different homes holed up on Monday morning.
Police say two people were killed in a home in the same neighborhood where the alleged shooter is under seige.
The same suspect is believed responsible for killing a woman in Lower Salford and two other people in Lansdale.
A neighbor of the Lower Salford victim said she witnessed a man leaving the scene with the several children after gunshots rang out around 4 a.m.
Officials on the scene are referring questions to Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman, who did not immediately respond to requests for a statement. A local NBC News affiliate said she would make a statement later today.
