Calderon graduates basic Air Force training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Pedro A. Calderon graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Calderon is the son of Nancy Mendoza and Pedro Calderon of Carteret, N.J., brother of Leslie Vazquez of Winchester, Va., and nephew of Gladys and Vilma Mendoza of Carteret, N.J.

He is a 2009 graduate of Carteret High School, Carteret, N.J. He earned an associate degree in 2013 from Middlesex County College, Edison, N.J.
