There’s a place down south called ‘Muscle Shoals’…It also
happens to be the name of a legendary recording studio, as
well as the title of a recent documentary that will satisfy
every single music lover regardless…

All I have to do is list some of the names involved…

Aretha Franklin…Bob Seger…Etta James…Gregg
Allman…Keith Richards…Clarence Carter…Percy
Sledge…Jimmy Cliff…Steve Winwood…Traffic…

…need I go on…

Mick Jagger…Candi Stanton…Bono…Duane Allman…Spooner
Oldham…Wilson Pickett…Lynyrd Skynyrd…Jerry
Wexler…and the list goes on…

…and…

If I started listing the songs that were recorded there, I’d
be here forever, so I’ll just name two off hand…

“When A Man Loves A Woman” by Percy Sledge and “Never Loved
A Man” by Aretha Franklin…

It simply doesn’t get any better than that… but amazingly,
as you watch this extraordinary video, it actually does,
again and again and again…

And… though this was a time in America’s history when the
south wasn’t so accepting of ‘racial differences’, (and some
parts still aren’t), down at Muscle Shoals, everyone was
color blind…for them, it was all about the music…

…and you get plenty of music here, as well as the stories
behind the singers, the musicians, the songs, and the times
they were recorded and lived in…
