virgil-bookUNION COUNTY — After anti-bullying activists Lorrie Christel Sanchez and Carol Blank created a “Bully Busters” club at the Livingston Avenue School in Cranford, schools in the neighboring towns of Linden and Rahway followed suit.

The success of the club was the catalyst for the creation of their company, Utterly Global Bullying Prevention, and their new book, Virgil: The Bully from Cyberspace.

The book chronicles Virgil’s first days of school on earth and his interactions with his classmates, who learn empathy, the importance of friendship and speaking up for themselves and others.

The adventures depict common problematic early childhood scenarios and each chapter offers the opportunity for a thought provocative exchange of questions, classroom activities and solutions.

The two Cranford residents will present a free program for parents and children grades 1-3 on Wednesday, July 30 at 3 PM in the Springfield Barnes & Noble on Route 22 at Hillside Avenue.
