Award-winning reporter Beth DeFalco is U.S. Sen. Cory Booker’s new communications director

STATE — Award-winning reporter Beth DeFalco, 37, who has covered breaking news and politics for 15 years across four states, has joined U.S. Sen. Cory Booker overseeing his D.C. and New Jersey offices as communications director.

DeFalco has worked for publications including The Associated Press, The Denver Post, The Arizona Republic and most recently for the New York Post covering City Hall.

She began covering New Jersey politics in 2006, the year Booker was first elected mayor of Newark.

“I am pleased that Beth has decided to bring her New Jersey experience and talent to our team and look forward to working with her,” Booker said.

DeFalco is a graduate of the University at Colorado at Boulder. She joins Press Secretary Monique Waters, in D.C., and State Press Secretary Silvia Alvarez, in Newark.
