WOODBRIDGE – This was given to me for my column, the exact year is not on the material but is from the early 1930s. Woodbridge High School held their annual faculty play, “Miss Nelly of N’Orleans” was given on April 18th and 19th.
The characters are as follow: Nelly Daventry, Mrs. Welock; Delphine Falasise, Mrs. Robinson; Melaine Cordanne, Miss Robinson; An old Zephyrine, Miss Morrow; George Durand, Mr. Pease; Felix Durand, Mr. Westcott; an old unc’ Boz, Mr. Sechrist and Pere Climent, A.C. Ferry.
The play was coached by Miss Grace Huber, who had produced so many successes.
At one time these businesses were on Main Street: Mercury Savings & Loan, Vivian’s Kiddie Shop and the Doll House Showroom/Discount Outlet was in the old bank building, opposite Woolworth’s.
What do you remember from around Woodbridge?
