RAHWAY — Services were held in Rahway for United States Air Force Airman Lamont Keith Cullars, 19, who died in an auto collision during the early morning of Tuesday, Jan. 21, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Authorities at Holloman Air Force Base said Cullars was one of three airmen killed in a car accident, which remains under investigation by Alamogordo police.
The New Jersey native was was assigned to the 16th Training Squadron stationed at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.
“It is with deep sadness that we must announce the death of three Team Holloman members,” said Col. James Thompson, 49th Wing vice commander. “Please keep their families and all Holloman personnel in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn their tragic deaths.”
The Cullars family and friends celebrated his life on Feb. 1, services at the Agape Family Worship Center in Rahway and a memorial website has been set up in his honor.
Lamont Cullars was born on July 21, 1994, in New Brunswick. In 2012, he enlisted in the Air Force, attended basic training and was promoted to Airman First Class as an Unmanned Aerospace System (UAS) Sensor Operator Pilot.
