School Community Mourns Death Of Linden 8th Grader

LINDEN – An eighth grade student is believed to have committed suicide at his home on Tuesday.

“The Linden School Community is deeply saddened by the tragic death of McManus Middle School eighth grade student, Quadrique Pretlow,” Superintendent Dr. Danny A. Robertozzi said in a statement released Wednesday. “The district extends its heartfelt condolences to Quadrique’s family during this difficult time.”

The school district is making counseling support available to the students, staff and families at McManus Middle School through the end of the week.

According to a MyCentralJersey.com report, Linden police are conducting an investigation into allegations of bullying in connection with Pretlow’s death.
