EDISON — David Brimmer, right, the director of the Middlesex County College Center for Veterans Services, accepts a plaque from Curt Coy, the undersecretary for economic opportunity of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The center was lauded for its efforts in helping military veterans and their dependents complete their educational goals. The citation also noted Brimmer’s role in recognizing the one millionth recipient of the Post 9/11 GI Bill, Steven Ferraro, a Middlesex student. The two of them traveled to Washington, D.C. in November and met with Dr. Jill Biden, the second lady of the United States, as well as executives from the VA. Coy traveled to New Jersey in January to meet with representatives of the Rutgers University Office of Veterans Services and Brimmer. (Photo courtesy of Middlesex County College)
