Linden AARP • Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. - Linden AARP Chapter #1894 will meet at the Linden Presbyterian Church, corner of Orchard Terr. & Princeton Rd. Refreshments will be available at noon. Anyone who belongs to the national AARP may join the Linden Chapter. Guests welcome.

Open House • Jan. 26 from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Our Lady of Peace School, 630 Amboy Ave., Edison, will hold an open house for parents and families. The school offers classes for Pre-K3 through 8th Grade.

Women’s Health • Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. – WomenHeart and Burlington Coat Factory are teaming up to raise women’s awareness of heart disease with the nationwide Heart of Style Tour. Health experts will be available to provide information and complimentary heart health screenings at Burlington Coat Factory, 651 Kapkowski Rd., Elizabeth.

Bus Trip • Feb. 9 from 9:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County is offering a bus trip to the Neue Galerie in New York City to see the special exhibit “Vasily Kandinsky: From Blaue Reiter to the Bauhaus, 1910-1925.” The cost is $50 for members ($55 non-members) which includes bus transportation, admission, and a private docent tour. The bus will leave from the JCC on Oak Tree Rd., Edison. Civil War Program • Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. – Historian John G. Zinn will present a program, “Portrait of a Civil War Marriage,” at the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Ave. The presentation will focus on more than 40 letters that William Lloyd of the 33rd New Jersey Regiment wrote to his wife, Mary.
