Clark Girls Softball Hosts Open Registration, Winter Clinics

CLARK – The Clark Girls Softball League will hold winter registration for the 2014 season on Sundays, Jan. 5 and 12 at the Brewer Recreational Center (Clark Municipal Building) from 6:30-8 p.m. on both days.

The league is open to all girls in grades Pre-K through 8, who reside in Clark, Garwood and Winfield, or who attend private school in Clark Township. This year, the league will open registration to girls who are four years old. Girls must be four by Oct. 1, 2013.

“We decided to open the league to the younger girls because of the growing number of parents who wanted to sign-up their daughters,” said Judi Pecoraro, president of the Clark Girls Softball League. “Our Instructional Division is a great entry-level platform for girls to experience softball for the first time.”

Pecoraro, cites the 2013 season as one of the league’s most successful seasons. “Last season we saw a growth in all areas of the association, not only on the field, but in the stands too. And, we are looking forward to building on the success of this past season by increasing the number of teams in each division, especially the Instructional Division.”

Registration forms can be obtained at the time of registration or from the CGSB website:

Additionally, the league is hosting winter instructional clinics on Jan. 5, 12, 19 and 26 at the Brewer Recreational Center. The girls will go through a series of fielding, hitting and field safety drills.

Times are as followed:

  • 6:30 – 7:30 PreK – 3rd grade (Font Gym)
  • 6:30 – 7:30 4th – 8th grades (Back Gym)*

*A fee of $30 will be charged for girls in grades 4-8. Fee includes a clinic T-Shirt.
