CARTERET-On Dec. 31, 1954, Cezo’s Bar and Grill on Roosevelt Ave. held a Gala New Year’s Open House for $1.00 with hats and noisemakers.

RAHWAY-The Cross Key Tavern on Cherry St. held a free Gala New Year’s Eve Party in 1961.

SAYREVILLE-In the Melrose section, Joe Jerome’s Tavern on Ridgeway Ave. held a New Year’s Eve Party in 1937 with a full course turkey supper for $1.25 a person.

SOUTH AMBOY-On Pine Ave. at the Bayview Inn and Restaurant an Open House was held on New Year’s Eve 1937 with no change in usual prices.
