Remembering the Past by Diane Norek Harrisonby Diane Norek Harrison

PERTH AMBOY-I had someone write me asking for help with finding family history from Perth Amboy. If anyone knows where resources can be found with the information needed, please contact me to pass on.

“I am researching the history of my family, which settled in Perth Amboy in the 1600s. Do you have any information you could share with me? I believe my family had property during the first town plat and it would be John Molleson. If you don’t have anything perhaps you can send me to someone who might.

“I am also looking for a copy of the original town plat as it was laid out in the late 1600s I believe. I think my ancestors name is on one of the lots and if I can link myself with him I would be eligible for the Colonial Dames. Do you know where I might locate one to buy so I can then frame it?”

I am also looking for readers to send their own memories, past material or old photos from Perth Amboy or neighboring towns to be used in my column.

If you have your own memories of the past in Middlesex or Union counties, email me at dianenorekharrison@verizon.net or send copies of your material to me c/o CMD Media, 1139 East Jersey St., Suite 503, Elizabeth NJ, 07201
