AVENEL – A temporary worker was killed earlier this month at an Amazon fulfillment center in Avenel, according to a report by All Things D.
The victim was crushed by equipment, a Department of Labor official told the website. The accident is under investigation by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
“We are deeply saddened and our hearts go out to his family and loved ones,” an Amazon representative told USA Today.
The victim was employed by Abacus, a temporary staffing agency. The facility is run by the logistics firm Genco.
