CLARK — Kelly Williamson’s fifth grade class at Valley Road Elementary in Clark is studying energy. This week, the students learned about energy and heat transfers through conduction, convection, and radiation. The students had the opportunity to investigate energy transfers in an experiment. The fifth graders worked in groups and moved throughout four stations with four different experiments. They collected data and observed the energy that was being transferred from one object to another. The students had to conclude which type of energy transfer was occurring at each of the four centers. In this picture (from left) Michael Noone, Ricky Sabarese, Madison Pardo, Gabby Scipioni, and Kelsey Brennan work together to observe how energy can transfer from a rubber band to a balloon.
