ATLANTIC CITY — Tickets are on sale today for one of New Jersey’s most popular scholastic sports events — the annual New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletics Association (NJSIAA) individual wrestling championships, which will be held March 7, 8 and 9, 2014 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Tickets may be purchased in-person, from all Ticketmaster locations, or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com, or calling 800-736-1420. Tickets are also available at the Boardwalk Hall box office, and are priced at $40 for all sessions, March 7-9.

Orders for group purchases — which are classified as a minimum of 15 tickets and a maximum of 50 — will be accepted through Feb. 3. Group sales order forms, along with additional information, are available at www.njsiaa.org or www.boardwalkhall.com. A $15 service charge applies to all group orders.

“There’s no more eagerly awaited event on New Jersey’s annual scholastic athletics calendar than the state wrestling championships,” says Steve Timko, NJSIAA executive director. “It’s exceptionally exciting each year, and student-athletes, their families, and wrestling fans always have a wonderful time.”

The championship preliminaries and pre-quarterfinals will begin on Friday, March 7, at 5 p.m. The following day, March 8, the quarterfinals and wrestle-backs I and II will start at 10 a.m. In a separate March 8 evening session, Boardwalk Hall will re-open for 5 p.m. semifinals and wrestle-backs III and IV. On Sunday, March 9 — the session for wrestle-back V, consolations, finals, and awards — competition will begin at 10 a.m.

Doors will open one hour prior to the start of each session.

Additional details on the state wrestling championships are available by visiting www.njsiaa.org.
